The Teams

At the MBA Games, teams compete in academics, sports, and spirit events. You can participate in 2/3 categories, one per day!

SPIRIT TEAM

There are four themed academic teams per year at the MBA Games and two compete per day. This means that even if you are on an academic team competing one day, you can join a sports team or the spirit team for the other day at the Games!

Team themes will be announced closer to the event. Themes in the past have included marketing, finance, strategy, and human resources.

To participate on an academic team, you must complete the Business Case Analysis class in the fall of 2015. The captains will choose teams based on performance in this class and auditions. In addition, you will be expected to practice with your team once a week and attend prep workshops - these sessions will build useful skills not only for the Games but also for your future in business.

There are also four sports teams; two per day. You can play on two different teams to fill your weekend or switch it up with a sport and an academic or spirit team!

Sports for the weekend will be announced closer to the event. Last year teams competed in basketball, volleyball, dodgeball, and water polo.

There will be practices regularly for the sports teams that team members will be expected to attend. Teambuilding!

The spirit events are less structured than the other team events, we won't even know what activities we will be competing in until we arrive in Toronto. Luckily no matter what they offer it's bound to be a blast.

In addition, there is some spirit activities that everyone representing Sprott on any team is expected to participate in such as the promotional video (completed a month and a half before the Games) and the team dance (to be performed at the opening ceremony).
